I have a problem, What do I do?

• All Serco members are advised to contact one of the two Serco stewards in the first instance. Only if neither of the Stewards are available should you contact the Plymouth office directly or the branch office at Derriford Hospital.
• When you have a routine enquiry don't leave your place of work without permission, good communication with supervisors and managers is important. Make contact with your Serco Steward first.
• If you are part of any formal process you are entitled to contact your trade union rep whilst you are at work. but ensure you advise your line manager where you are going and for how long you intend to be away from work.
• You are entitled to meet your trade union representative in PRIVATE.
• You should give as much notice as possible to your line manager or supervisor and agree a suitable time.
• If neither of the Serco stewards are available at work you are entitled to make contact with the trade union Branch Secretary Ray Stewart, who works from the Trade Union office on Level 9 at Derriford Hospital.
• Ray Stewart will then advise you accordingly on what action you should take to address your concern, complaint or otherwise.
• Serious issues such as suspension or dismissal from work you are advised to contact the Branch Secretary or a full time union official as soon as possible for advice.
