Agenda For Change Banding

13/08/2012 09:00

On the 27th of February 2012 at the 3rd at the Joint staff side meeting with Serco it was agreed to meet to discuss and complete a review of our members job matching. An exercise necessary to ensure they are job matched and banded correctly, being paid at the correct rate of pay.

With just 24 hours notice the company decided to cancel this meeting. All of the trade unions were very keen to keep this meeting as a separate event, but the senior Serco HR manager at the time decided to cancel the review and decided to ignore the issue yet again. GMB found this attitude very unprofessional and confrontational. This position didnt help to develop relationships with GMB and Serco.

Up until this date no review has taken place and until a complete review takes place we cannot be assured that our members are being paid correctly. Members be assured that at any future staff side meetings this matter will be on the agenda for trade unions to discuss.

Correct, accurate job descriptions are the key for taking forward job matching.

Previous Joint staff committee meetings with Serco since the beginning of 2012 have produced nothing.

Any information which was requested by the GMB and other trade unions was never supplied by Serco.

The minutes of the last meeting on the 27th of February were not formally agreed but their is no reason why they should not be available to our members to view if requested. After all, GMB was told in no uncertain terms that the JSNC Forum was no longer active and therefore no opportunity would be given to discuss, agree or disagree with issues raised.

There is no agreed constitution for any JSNC, therefore no agreed rules. Therefore, any member who requests a copy of the minutes will be sent a copy.

This can be through the trade union office on Level 9 or through the Serco HR manager.

Members may also reqeust a copy via this sites feedback page.
